Common Accounts

We explore ordinary situations where design intelligence is abundant but under the radar. We look five seconds into the future to find sites and situations in daily life in which we intervene as designers. Our work examines the intersection of the body with space and matter both online and in real life, and channels broad cultural, technological, and historiographic material that often passes under the radar of the global design discourse into experimental art, building and thinking. Common Accounts was recently listed by the New York Times Style Magazine as one of the most influential architects in Spain. We have lectured at institutions like Harvard University, Cornell University, Princeton University, Columbia University, Ohio State University, and Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. We have built work in Seoul, Rome, Ontario, and Shanghai and have exhibited in museums, art galleries, and shows in New York, Istanbul, Toronto, Rome, Los Angeles and Seoul, where our work was recently acquired for the permanent collection by the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Korea.
