Comunidade FIT

Comunidade FIT (Futebool-Ingles-Training) is a social community organization empowering youth and uniting communities in underserved areas through the universal languages of soccer and English. We aim to use soccer as a vehicle to create a positive impact by teaching skills including conversational English, soccer, mental & physical health, personal growth & development, creativity, confidence, leadership, and more. The initiative also provides a safe space for kids to study and train, keeping them focused, engaged, and off the street. We work with local community leaders, teachers, coaches, and entities to help guide, support, and encourage students to learn and be inspired to become positive influences within their communities and beyond. FIT builds communities within communities to further strengthen local support, structure, and services in pursuit of contributing to the further development and greater potential of opportunities for the youth of the community. We have been working with the community of Vila Valdete in Porto Seguro, Bahia, Brazil since November 2018 and before that briefly worked with the Pereque Acu community in Ubatuba, SP.
