Construction & Development Partnership

The Construction & Development Partnership (CODEP) is a registered charity founded by civil engineers supporting the community of Waterloo, Sierra Leone. We designed and built the Chukuma Johnson Memorial Library in 2009, which has served as a base for our team in Waterloo to improve adult and child literacy in the region, and to act as a place of aid in times of emergency, including during the Ebola and COVID 19 crises. The learning centre has flourished into a community hub, where both adults and children can grow their education through classes, self-study and multimedia formats. Our site in the old town of Waterloo hosts sports days, baby massage classes and play time for local schoolchildren and our staff have organised all manner of events; including reading competitions, Easter celebrations and literacy festivals.We now support classes at over 50 local primary schools, helping children achieve a 90% exam pass rate.
