Control Union UK (CU UK) Fisheries was borne out of the growing worldwide interest in sustainable accreditation in the fisheries and aquaculture industries. Previously named ME Certification (MEC) and before that, part of the consultancy company MacAlister Elliott and Partners Ltd, CU Pesca has been offering MSC fisheries and chain of custody services to its clients since 2007. CU Pesca is now part of the Control Union family and is the largest UK based MSC Chain Of Custody provider, continuing to grow steadily through its professional approach to clients. We understand that certification is often a requirement that is needed against a backdrop of short deadlines and practical issues. With a team of dedicated and experienced staff, CU Pesca prides itself on providing a friendly, innovative and efficient service. Auditing companies are often portrayed as uncaring and inflexible in their approach. While it is true that the nature of our work involves the implementation of set procedures and standards, we at CU Pesca believe that this does not mean we cannot offer a friendly and helpful service to our customers. As such, we see the actual audit as only a part of the package that we offer.
