The Nocterm Project concerns the creation of a radiative cooling panel, which operates based on the nonlinear reflection of thermal radiation in the wavelength range corresponding to the so-called atmospheric window - that is, the infrared spectrum that most easily passes through the Earth's atmosphere.
The innovation (on a global scale) of the solution lies in the emission of energy in the form of electromagnetic waves, which are absorbed by surrounding objects. Electromagnetic waves contain energy capable of removing heat from the objects they come into contact with.
The problems the product solves are mainly related to the increasing demand for air conditioning, rising electricity prices, and global warming.
We have a Proof of Concept (PoC) confirming the effectiveness of the technology. The next steps must involve R&D work - mainly concerning the paint covering the panel, which will allow for greater efficiency, as well as the panel production process, and the construction of a commercial pilot installation. We are seeking funding of at least 0.5 million euros.
