CPRS District 12

The purpose of the California Park & Recreation Society is to advance the profession of recreation, parks, and community services. Through the work of the State Board of Directors, our Regions, Districts and Sections, and staff, we: - Unite members and ensure member success. - Provide educational opportunities to recreation, park, and community services professionals. - Engage in research to advance the recreation, park, and community services profession. - Disseminate information affecting recreation, park, and community services in California. - Engage in legislative advocacy that support and enhance the recreation, park, and community services profession. District 12 Goals - To provide regional opportunities for education, professional development, and training in the field of Parks & Recreation to perpetuate the profession through leadership development. - To strengthen and broaden the network of Parks & Recreation professionals throughout District 12 by providing opportunities for communication between the various individuals, agencies and organizations involved in Parks & Recreation. - To recognize or acknowledge the development of innovative Parks & Recreation facilities and programs and advocate for Parks & Recreation as an essential service. - To operate in a fiscally responsible manner while supporting CPRS Ends Policies and Parks Make Life Better campaign.
