Who are Craggs & Co?
Craggs & Co are commercial wheat growers who farm over 2,000 acres of land in the North East and North Yorkshire. We also have numerous assured growers across the UK growing on our behalf. We are the largest UK producer of spelt and our infrastructure has been developed for large scale production. This enables us to consistently supply our spelt at stable pricing.
What sets us aside from the competition?
Our spelt is 100% British and by far the highest quality of spelt available in the UK today with a consistent protein level of 17%. Our spelt products are fully traceable, produced and stored in AA BRC graded facilities. Working closely with NPD teams to produce spelt products to match their requirements has been fundamental to the growth of the business, which now supplies some of the leading food manufacturers.
Why spelt?
Ancient grains are increasing in popularity due to the consumer searching for ways to increase fibre and protein in their diets. Spelt is a commonly recognised ancient grain and our ingredients products are readily available in a variety of retail products including baked goods, cereals, soups, salads and in RTE pouches.
