At CRDC Materials, we support the recycling and construction industries to tackle two of our planet’s most urgent challenges—plastic pollution and sustainable construction. We engineer RESIN8® recycled-content building materials from plastic waste that is difficult or impossible to recycle into new plastic. Concrete enriched with RESIN8® comes out lighter, more durable, and more energy-efficient than conventional concrete, and just as strong. RESIN8® in asphalt reduces deformation, so pavements last longer. Building with RESIN8® reduces pollution by diverting low-value plastics from landfill, incineration, and the environment. It also lowers the carbon footprint of plastic waste management; conserves dwindling stocks of mineral aggregates; protects sensitive wildlife habitats from mining; stores carbon in the built environment; and ensures that nonrecyclable plastics recovered from rivers, beaches and the ocean are permanently removed from the environment. Together with our partner subsidiaries in Costa Rica, Mexico, North America, South Africa, and Australia, CRDC Materials sells RESIN8® to governments, developers, and concrete or asphalt manufacturers taking a leadership position in the global transition to a sustainable built environment. We are the flagship commercial implementation of REAP (Recover - Enrich - Appreciate - Prosper), the regenerative Zero Waste business framework of the Center for Regenerative Design and Collaboration (CRDC) in Costa Rica. REAP was recognized as a People's Choice Finalist for the World Economic Forum Circularity Award in 2016.
