Centre of Research for Environment, Energy and Water (CREEW)

CREEW was established in 2008. It is a non-government not-for-profit scientific research-oriented and development based organization that conducts and disseminates research findings and technologies in thematic areas of environment, energy and water utilizing its strong network with research institutes, private and public sectors, and international agencies; and contributes in capacity building of young researchers and targeted beneficiaries. Initially CREEW came into existence to facilitate and promote research, capacity building and dissemination activities on water resources and water environment protection, conservation and development amongst university students and mid-career professionals through joint collaborative research activities especially on groundwater and rivers in Kathmandu valley with Interdisciplinary Center for River Basin Environment (ICRE) of the University of Yamanashi, Japan since 2008. Since then CREEW has been conducting collaborative research and study, capacity building and knowledge dissemination programs and projects with several national and international partners (such as ICRE at UY Japan, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Thailand, WWF Nepal, UN-Habitat Nepal, USAID Nepal, Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) Japan, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) Japan).
