Crogga was established in 2017 by a team of Manx professionals with a wide range of international experience in the energy industry. Crogga is focused on Isle of Man energy security, and protecting the Island’s environment, community, and the Manx way of life. The Isle of Man has committed to being net-zero carbon by 2050. Crogga has been awarded by the Isle of Man Government a licence for natural gas appraisal and development in Manx waters and natural gas will play an important role in this transition to net-zero carbon. Local resources of natural gas will provide energy security and an opportunity for the Island to transition to renewables while supporting increased electrical energy demand. Residents and businesses of the Island will benefit environmentally, socially and financially. Crogga natural gas will also be up to 30% more efficient (lower emissions) than imported gas from overseas and provide greater control and assurance over how the gas is extracted.
