Centro Sperimentale del Latte (CSL) was the first company in Italy to study Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) for human health. It was founded by Dr Leo Vesely in 1948 with a mission to improve maternal health and children’s nutrition. Since 2013 CSL has been part of Sacco System, the international biotech hub, for food, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical industries; our expertise helps solve consumer needs in more than 110 countries around the world, leveraging our unique proprietary strains and customised blends. After more than 70 years, CSL continues to focus on probiotic manufacturing, research and development in the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical fields. Our know-how is not limited to LAB, but with our two facilities, drug-GMP certified we can support companies in the development, process validation, and commercial production of probiotics, postbiotics, Next-Generation bacteria (obligate aerobes and anaerobes strains) and biotherapeutics (BPs)
