Cyber Patrol

An organization dedicated to providing opportunities for passionate middle and high school students to pursue their interests in the IT field. We aim to tackle one of the biggest issues facing today's youth: the lack of opportunities and classes to teach students computer science and cyber security. With student volunteers as tutors, we organize clubs in different schools with a curriculum that teaches computer science, cyber security, and electrical engineering. We cover a wide array of topics in order to allow students to find their specific interests. Additionally, our curriculum prepares students for the Air Force Association CyberPatriot national cybersecurity competiton. Members of the club participate in the competition as teams. We use money from our fundraisers to pay for all the competition fees, equipment, and training for our members; so that no student will ever be discouraged by financial obstacles. We are also engaged in non-profit projects in the aim to improve the availability of computer education in schools. With funding from Fairfax County, grants, and fundraisers, we are currently working on our Digital Migrant project to place computers to less technologically-equipped schools within the county. We are currently present in South Lakes High School and Langston Hughes Middle School and are ever-expanding in our goal to make computer education as present in US public schools as sports extracurriculars.
