Dearne Valley RUFC

Dearne Valley RUFC, located in Bolton-Upon-Dearne in South Yorkshire, was founded in 2023. We are an amateur Rugby Union club, and a non-profit organisation with an established committee, coaching team, and player base consisting of two senior mens teams. Our First XV compete in the Yorkshire League Division Four (level 10) of the English Rugby pyramid. Our Development XV compete in the South Yorkshire Merit League. Our inaugural season, 2023-2024, saw the team go unbeaten throughout their first campaign in the South Yorkshire Merit League before making the step up to level 10 of the English Rugby pyramid. In the space of 12 months, we have quickly grown our player base to now be in a position of having over 45 registered players. We share our home ground and clubhouse with Dearne Valley Bulldogs ARLFC, and continue to have a close relationship with our Rugby League landlords. Collaborative coaching takes place between both clubs, as well as sharing multiple players between both mens senior teams. We pride ourselves on utilising the vast array of Rugby experience within our playing and coaching group to promote and drive an off and on-field strategy that will create a sustainable club, underpinned by exciting rugby, professional standards, and innovation. Some of the ideas the club implement are unique in Yorkshire Rugby, especially at level 10, and we are keen to continue to champion that innovation.
