Democratic Progress Institute

DPI is an independent non-governmental organisation established in consultation with a group of international experts in the areas of conflict resolution and democratic advancement. The Institute seeks to provide expertise, combining research and practicable approaches to broaden bases for wider public involvement in promoting peace and democracy building. Our activities incorporate research with projects focusing on a wide range of strategic and relevant topics to conflict resolution including: > constitutional arrangements; > governance models in conflict societies and transitional societies; > freedom of expression and association; > cultural and language rights; > political participation and representation; > women’s role in conflict resolution; > the role of the media in democratic reform; > access to justice and transitional justice including truth and reconciliation commissions.
