"Der Simulierte Mensch" (Si-M, The Simulated Human) is a collaborative research institute of Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Here, scientists from both institutions jointly develop new technologies, applications, and diagnostics to improve human models. Human health, the onset and the course of human diseases are the shared research areas.
Technologies such as mass spectrometry, multispectral flow cytometry, single-cell sequencing, high-resolution and live cell imaging, as well as organoid and 3D printing technologies are available to Si-M scientists and their cooperation partners. Young researchers will find an optimal working environment with low hierarchies and experienced mentors present at the Si-M.
For the Berlin society, the Si-M holds two open floors where visitors can meet scientists and get informed about the latest research or participate in studies. Our specialised virtual reality lab is only one place to visit. At the Si-M we will have room for science communication, theater and much more.
The building is currently under construction and will be finished by the end of 2024.
