Desired Future Conditions PBC (DFC) makes biochar and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) affordable without compromising quality. We develop long-term partnerships with landowners across North America for woody feedstock and in-woods biochar production sites to create new revenue streams and incentivize sustainable management decisions. Our projects improve the health of forests, increase resilience against catastrophic disturbance like wildfires, and deliver physical biochar and CDR at industrial scales to end-use markets with a focus on quality and affordability. As a team of dedicated forestry and carbon market experts who have built some of the largest portfolios in both compliance and voluntary carbon markets, we also offer nature-based project development and carbon consulting services focused on working forests and rangelands.
