Dr. Erica Jayne Friedman (they/she/he) is an LGBTQIA+ gender and orientation expert available to help elevate you and your workplace to being more intentionally inclusive. Have you ever: - Felt overwhelmed with lack of knowledge and best practices on how to be more inclusive? - Feared messing up, making mistakes or being cancelled? - Wanted to learn, grow, and make changes? Dr. Friedman will help you and/or your affiliated company, organization, or institution develop a practice of mindful and actionable inclusivity that proactively increases customer, client, student, and/or employee sense of belonging, well-being, and safety. They believe progress toward true social and economic equity in our world begins with deviating (i.e., changing) from our normal practices. At both the individual level and institutional level, we must deviate by: - opening ourselves up - becoming vulnerable - sitting in discomfort - and doing what feels different. This practice will help create effective and sustainable change—to elevate you, your work, and each other. Dr. Friedman is a social psychologist from New York currently living in Miami, Florida* and serving as the Associate Director for the Pride Center at Florida International University. Creator of the Flying Gender Unicorn tool for discussing the complexities of human sexuality and our gendered biologies, Dr. Friedman has over 15 years of gender and orientation research, education, and consultation experience. *Serving nationally and internationally while based on the ancestral homelands of sovereign Native nations, including the Tequesta, the Calusa, and today, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida.
