DiaperDad.SG (DDSG) is an initiative started by Felix Tang in 2016, which started off as a simple blogging project to document the journey of being a Stay-At-Home-Dad (SAHD) to his eldest son who was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, a rare auto-immune illness that affects the coronary arteries, especially in young children.
The project evolved in 2021, when his elderly parents suffered from dementia and multiple strokes and became the primary caregiver to both the elderly and his young children.
Such adults are known as being part of the "sandwiched" generation: Adults who bravely shoulder the responsibility of being caregivers to both their elderly parents and their young family.
There is a need to provide greater awareness and support to this group. DDSG works to build a support network of services which caregiver/parents can tap on, and for them an opportunity to seek help and to care for themselves as well.
