DirecTrainS (DTS) is developing a novel transport technology aimed at solving capacity and congestion issues using existing infrastructure. The ‘Dynamic Coupling’ concept integrates aerospace technology into rail operations. Leveraging their aviation expertise, the DTS team introduces a system that couples/decouples trains on the move. Our solution reimagines rail as a smart, modular, low-emission network—without laying new tracks. The Dynamic Coupling (DC) system includes a wagon attached to a moving train and a software platform managing coupling points. This enables feeder trains to join or leave express lines, extending service to underserved areas while saving energy and costs. The result: faster delivery, broader access, and reduced reliance on trucks. Tested in Europe, with pilot projects planned in Israel and the U.S., DTS provides a flexible, climate-resilient rail solution for global delivery. By transforming existing infrastructure into an efficient ecosystem, DirectTrains promotes sustainable mobility, cuts carbon, preserves biodiversity, and aligns with ESG standards.
