The DIT Design Studio is a makerspace located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, that is dedicated to transforming students into innovators and ideas into sustainable solutions. The studio was opened in 2019 with the support of Rice University's Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen (OEDK) and the Lemelson Foundation.
The studio is equipped with a variety of tools and resources, including 3D printers, laser cutters, microscopes, and mechanical tools. Students can use these tools to design and prototype their own solutions to real-world problems. The studio also offers workshops and courses on design and innovation
