About Youth in Technology and Engineering Organization (YITEISM)
YITEISM is an education-based doctrine, toolkit, and startup formed with the aim of creating a community or network of people supporting and inspiring youth in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), fostering challenge-driven innovation (CDIs), and engineering solutions for multidisciplinary fields (ESMFs) in real life. It was duly registered by the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups of the United Republic of Tanzania under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002 with a registration number of 00NGO/R/3690 to operate in Tanzania. It is primarily aimed at developing a broader preparedness among young engineers and scientists to conquer the day-to-day challenges with engineering solutions, cope with the industrial revolution, and address societal needs through innovations. YITEISM applies a comprehensive and future-oriented vision to working with youth by recognizing youth as agents of change, beneficiaries, and partners in social transformations. Thus, for our economies to thrive in the future, we need more young women and men to have more opportunities to practice and engage in activities beneficial to themselves and the community. Hand in hand with the focus on youth, YITEISM has three more sub-enabling chapters that stipulate women's, children's, and persons with disabilities' inclusion in STEM practices. We measure our organization's progress and impact by instilling in youth, women and person's with dissabilities the following qualities: 1. Health and wellbeing; 2. Education, skills, and expertise; 3. Employment and opportunity; 4. Equality and inclusion; 5. Civic participation and voices in development
