The registered independent charity, Doctors For Nutrition was cofounded in 2018, to provide the Southern Hemisphere with an independent voice to champion the role of nutrition in healthcare. Doctors For Nutrition’s vision is to create a world free from preventable disease so that everyone can thrive and live to their full potential.
Powerful evidence shows that a whole food plant-based eating pattern can prevent, reverse, or significantly reduce disability caused by a wide range of chronic diseases. And yet what we eat has long been overlooked and dismissed in mainstream medical intervention.
Doctors For Nutrition is working to equip clinicians, institutions and communities in our region with evidence-based information and education on optimum human nutrition.
Our team provides education, resources and events to support healthcare professionals and their patients in Australia, New Zealand and beyond. In parthership with the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine we also offer a certification pathway in Lifestyle Medicine.
Our Australasian ‘Nutrition in Healthcare Conference’ launched in February 2019, and was held again in 2023, showcasing the latest research on the leading lifestyle factor to influence health outcomes: our diet.
