Considering the numerous adjustments and challenges new parents face during the transitional time following childbirth, you should not be expected to nurture both yourselves and your infant (or infants) completely on your own!
My role as a postpartum doula is to provide valuable aid to your family through practical and emotional assistance during the fourth trimester, fostering an easier transition for mothers and fathers into parenthood. I also offer resources and referrals to meet your needs in order to make it easier for you to navigate the weeks and months following birth, which in turn enables you to make ample space for bonding and recovery.
The intention of my services, whether in your home or virtually, are to validate and encourage your own parental choices with trust and respect- and without judgement. By providing the reassurance and hands on support you deserve within your own environment, I can help you warmly welcome your newest addition into the world.
As a postpartum doula, I can provide any of the following support, and can tailor services to fit your family’s needs:
Non-medical support and companionship, and general knowledge of the postpartum period.
Evidence-based information on both emotional and physical recovery from childbirth.
Education and support surrounding breastfeeding basics and formula feeding/bottle care.
Assistance with general newborn care, baby wearing, bathing, and infant sleep.
Guidance towards family adjustment for partners, siblings, and pets.
Help with meal preparation, daily/light household maintenance, organization, and quick errands.
