Down Syndrome Limerick (DSL) is run by the members for the members on a voluntary basis. We are a charity organisation that supports individuals with Down Syndrome through the provision of essential services such as Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy as well as arranging social events and classes such as dance, art, music, drama, swimming and cycling lessons. We also provide training, courses and information sessions to members, their families and carers as well as teachers and school support staff. We offer an Adult Literacy programme (Latch-On) which offers our young adult members an opportunity to develop their literacy, independence and self confidence through the use of technology which increases employment opportunities for them on completion. Down Syndrome Limerick also supports families of members through Parent Link, regular meet-ups, support groups, training and we offer a counselling service.
Down Syndrome Limerick rely on donations from companies and individuals who kindly fundraise for us each year. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who has a fundraising idea or from companies who would consider including us as part of their corporate social responsibility programmes.
