DubAssist (Dubbing Studio Assistant)

DubAssist LLC is dedicated to providing Audio Post-Production Studio Management Tools and Services that help our clients to organize and streamline their Dubbing workflow, tracking multiple projects in multiple studios, languages and locations with real-time access to information from the highest-level overview down to the most specific detail. DubAssist tracks exactly what needs to be recorded for each character in a script or series of scripts, (soap/telenovela, feature film, etc.) and what has been recorded for talent payment purposes and post-production tracking, with a linked Daily Schedule and Script Viewer pages to be utilized in-studio for recording. We combine Google Calendar for talent scheduling and imported scripts to arrive at a daily schedule for each studio/talent. The Daily Schedule provides a list of Retakes, Required Characters and Optional Characters that need to be recorded by each talent, prioritized by project and must-record episodes. From the Daily Schedule, the operator/director can jump directly to the correct script in the Script Viewer, bringing the specified Character or individual Retake entry into focus for the Talent, with fast and easy navigation from one entry to the next using cursor keys, while allowing the context-critical adjacent dialog of other characters to be viewed. As each Retake or Character is recorded, that item is marked as Recorded in the Daily Schedule. At the end of each session a Talent Ticket is provided, listing all items recorded, the loop rate and total to be paid to the actor. That same information is used to build Talent Invoices that combine all work performed during a specified period. Post-production includes QC, where retakes are marked in the system and fed directly back into the Daily Schedule in real time. A retake can potentially be spotted and immediately re-recorded if the talent happens to be in-studio at that moment, reducing or eliminating critical turnover time for error correction!
