Egyptian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

As the important role of behavioral and cognitive approaches in a wide range of settings & psychological disorders has been established and recognized nowadays, the Egyptian Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (EACBT) was established to meet the growing needs & demands in the scope of therapy for different psychological disorders. The Egyptian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (EACBT) is a non-profit organization which promotes the scientific study and ethical practice in understanding and changing cognitions and behaviors in applied settings. It is a multidisciplinary association for professionals with an interest in research and the application of established and emerging evidence-based Cognitive and Behaviour Therapies (CBT) to help bring about emotional, cognitive, and behavioral change. It is the national professional body for practitioners and researchers of cognitive and behavioral therapies in Egypt & the Arab World. The Association is concerned with the application of behavioral and cognitive sciences to understanding human behavior, developing interventions to enhance the human condition, and promoting the appropriate utilization of these interventions. It encourages, organizes and supports professional development activities and the dissemination of published information about CBT. It also encourages and supports research in CBT. In addition to offering regular training programs, the EACBT organizes an annual congress with various workshops & training opportunities in the field of cognitive behavioral therapy for different psychological disorders. The objectives of the Association are: 1- To undertake and promote research and education into cognitive and behavior therapies. 2- To publish and disseminate information about developments in cognitive and behavior therapies within Egypt and other Arab countries. 3- To provide education and training in the principles and practices of cognitive and behavior therapies. 4- To support an evidence-based practice of cognitive and behavior therapies within Egypt & the Arab world. The EACBT is for everyone -- those professionals already skilled at cognitive behavioral therapy and people who are complete novices.
