(Margaret Mead, American anthropologist, 1901-1978) The Earth 3.0 Foundation is an international non-profit organisation and think tank of stakeholders from leading institutions, universities, industry, and public/private financial partners. Over 500 million unconnected people in Sub-Saharan Africa lack access to seamless internet connectivity, depriving them of the opportunities that digital transformation offers. Our mission is to Drive Digital Equality by identifying, deploying, and supporting connectivity and digital service solutions, with focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, built on global state of the art technology, novel sustainable business models and a strong involvement of local communities. The Earth 3.0 Foundation builds on innovation, equality, partnerships, locality, and sustainability by collaborating with local authorities, companies, and communities as well as research, academia, civil society, and business to connect the unconnected and advance their digital future. Digital transformation is pivotal in revolutionising societies. The use of digital technology and services drives innovation, socio-economic growth, and job creation. Earth 3.0 Foundation is primarily focused on 3 key pillars of digital transformation: 1) Affordable Internet and infrastructure including connectivity and power. 2) Core Digital services such as e-learning, resilient agriculture, healthcare, clean cooking. 3) Building capacity and skills for maintenance and support as well as digital literacy. Additionally, Earth 3.0 Foundation is actively participating in Academic Research and Innovation consortiums to develop and advance solutions for underserved communities and people.
