The Laboratory for Extended Realities and Emerging Technologies (LabXR) relates to the Research and Creation Group Tecnología En Escena, of the Pontifical University of Peru (PUCP). As part of an arts faculty, it is conceived as a bridge between research objects and methodologies. On the one hand, it explores the use of Extended Reality, AI and other emerging technologies as a creative tool in the various performing arts. On the other hand, it studies the contribution of the theory and praxis of the performing arts to research about this technologies. Its fields of work encompass fundamental research and applied research, both in the technical challenges of XR as in the creative aspects of artistic work. In its aim of interweaving various disciplines for creation and research, the LabXR seeks collaboration with diverse specialties and agents, both of academia and outside of academia.
