The Climate Centre

The Earth System and Climate Centre (ESCC) is registered as a not-for-profit organisation in Australia. While we do accept donations, we are not classified as a deductible gift recipient (DGR). Our objective is to foster a deep understanding and active participation among citizens through innovative research, the development of digital tools, and dynamic outreach initiatives. Specifically, ESCC commits to: 1. Conducting rigorous citizen science research in environmental and climate sciences to generate new insights and understandings of our changing world. 2. Developing and providing access to digital tools that empower individuals and communities to engage effectively with environmental issues. 3. Engaging the public in environmental and climate issues through the creation and dissemination of digital content. This includes producing interview and news podcasts that provide insights, promote dialogue, and present the latest findings and perspectives in the field. 4. Enhancing social media engagement to foster a community of informed and active citizens who are motivated to participate in environmental stewardship and climate action. This mission will be achieved through volunteers contributing their time and effort, leveraging a community-driven approach to foster wide-reaching impact. ESCC will operate in a non-profit manner. By mobilizing a network of volunteers, ESCC aims to create a more informed public, equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to contribute to a sustainable future. Our commitment lies in bridging the gap between science and society, ensuring that scientific knowledge leads to community action and policy change.
