Easy Harvest

The concept of Easy Harvest originated from the will to valorize an abundant Portuguese resource, seaweed. Easy Harvest’s operations focus on providing, managing, and valorizing the seaweed sector and its ecosystem services. Easy Harvest’s main service focuses on three major pillars: monitorization, mitigation, and valorization of wild macroalgae blooms. Globally the blooms can cover large extensions of the coastline, generating great volumes in a short period of time. Although natural, these blooms are reaching unnatural dimensions and becoming more frequent. If not managed, they create nuisances to the local communities and eutrophication of the coastal area and leading to costly economic efforts to clean the recreational spaces. Our operations enable us to collect the seaweed on the water column before it gets stranded on the beach, therefore reducing eutrophication whilst obtaining good quality seaweed. The biomass is extremely valuable when collected on time and can be used as raw material for several applications. Using blooms' biomass Easy Harvest strives to bring value and assert focus areas such as Bio-packaging, Circular Food Systems, Sustainable Aquaculture, and Alternative Proteins. We are currently looking for potential collaborators interested in our seaweed and/ or who share similar visions and would be interested in collaborating with us.
