ECOTIC is the first organization of producers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in Romania, established in 2006. Our mission is to assume responsibility for the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries and accumulators (WBA) on behalf of the companies placing such products on the Romanian market. We represent over 800 producers and importers, ensuring compliance with the annual legal targets for collection, recycling, and recovery. To this date, ECOTIC has contributed to the collection and recycling of over 450,000 tonnes of electronic waste. Our work is focused on three key pillars: - Continuous development of the WEEE and WBA collection and recycling infrastructure; - Public education and awareness campaigns about the importance of responsible recycling of WEEE and WBA; - Active involvement in legislative and regulatory initiatives for efficient waste management. We are a non-profit organization, a member of the international WEEE Forum, and a founding member of WEEELABEX, helping align Romania with the highest European environmental standards.
