Traditional Ecosystems Survival Tanzania (TEST) is a non-profit organisation that facilitates effective collaborations that integrate external technical expertise and assistance with indigenous local knowledge and skills to reduce conflict, improve natural resource management, and enhance the sustainable well-being of local people, livestock and wildlife in the natural ecosystems and landscapes in Tanzania
The main focus of our organization is to document and disseminate indigenous knowledge systems and practices of indigenous communities, such as pastoralists, hunters and gatherers and agro-pastoralist communities. The main target communities are those found in the natural ecosystems in Arusha, Shinyanga, Tanga, Mbeya and Manyara regions in Tanzania. The target communities are the indigenous Maasai, Barbaig (Datooga), Hadza, Sukuma and Batemi. These communities live and share their lands in Tanzania with wildlife in critically globally important ecosystems.
