Ecotype Genetics

Our mission at Ecotype Genetics is to support the protection and conservation of wildlife by providing accurate and reliable genetic solutions to ecologists and environmental consultants. We use DNA technologies to provide species identification services to hundreds of clients in the ecology and environmental management sector. We specialise in Bat species identification and we offer a mixed species analysis service which can detect whether droppings from multiple bat species are present in a sample. This enables for more comprehensive and efficient surveying and can be crucial for discovering rare species. We also work closely with our clients to develop bespoke analyses for specific project requirements that don't match our standard services as well as working with a range of academic and non-profit organisations.
