ECU Department of Earth, Environment, and Planning

Welcome to Geography, Planning and Environment at ECU! Our Department is home to five undergraduate degrees (Geography, Community &Regional Planning, Applied Atmospheric Science, Geographic Information Science &Technology, and Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Environmental Studies) and two master’s degrees (Geography and Planning & Development). Our outstanding faculty are dedicated to student success and are making valuable research contributions in areas ranging from climate science and coastal resilience to global environmental justice, water resource management, disaster planning, and health disparities. Our coursework and opportunities for hands-on experiences prepare our students for success in a wide range of scientific, environmental, and technological career paths. Many students are also actively involved in one of our three student organizations, so whatever your area of interest, you will find great ways to get involved and make a difference!
