ELAPSED

The project "ELAPSED - Electric Aircraft Propulsion" is a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to the development and evaluation of electric drive trains for aircraft: From energy supply (battery or fuel cell) to drive technology (electric motor and power electronics) to the propulsor and the associated sub-aspects of thermal and heat management, EMC and control, the complex overall system is to be developed and tested. A special focus is placed on the sustainable, efficient and safe operation of future aviation applications. In addition to the development of a drive train for a special aviation application, the focus of this project is also on the digital networking of the corresponding laboratories in order to expand the infrastructure at UniBw M, which consists of individual laboratories for the corresponding subject areas, to a virtual overall laboratory for electric aviation propulsion systems.
