About Electrochemistry at Interface Lab

The Electrochemistry at Interface Lab is based at the Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science Department, IIT Bombay. The group led by Prof. Vijayshankar Dandapani investigates aqueous corrosion and electrochemical processes relevant for material degradation. Ongoing research includes developing quantitative methods to probe corrosion kinetics at buried metal/polymer interfaces, hydrogen permeation and cracking in advanced steels, magnesium alloy corrosion and damage resistant coatings for hydrogen transport.
