In 2011, Elsewedy Electric and the Ministry of Education signed an initiative to start Elsewedy Technical School. This initiative aimed to improve the technical education and training in order to have a better connection between the technical school and the professional work environment, by providing an enhanced educational programme focusing on training the students and developing their skills in a real work environment.
Based on the success of the technical school, Elsewedy Electric aimed to extend the concept beyond the local market and support the region as a whole, under the name of Elsewedy Technical Academy, STA.
STA launched its first academy in September 2016 which hosted 400 students. It is planning to acquire the Quality Management Certificate ISO 29990 in 2017. ISO 29990 is an international standard for training providers. This standard is intended to assure that the performance of the educational programme is meeting the international standards.
Learning at STA is based on a full scholarship programme. Students are sponsored with uniform, learning material, electronic learning devices, transportation and on-the-job training during their three year course of study, in addition to financial support in the form of monthly compensation.
