Established in 2016 by a Decree issued by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (‘EMAC’) is uniquely positioned as a regional centre dedicated to the maritime sector, providing impartial services relevant to the resolution of maritime disputes through means of arbitration, mediation and related dispute mechanisms. EMAC prides itself on a set of rules for both arbitration and mediation that encompass international standards and provide for fast track and emergency arbitration.
EMAC aims to provide cost and time effective processes and quality resources to facilitate case resolution within the UAE for the region and beyond. EMAC is an independently managed entity, with key persons from the maritime sector on its board of trustees to ensure that EMAC serves the sector efficiently.
