The Empenn research team, named after the Breton word for "brain", is a research team based in Rennes, Brittany, France. It is part of IRISA and affiliated with Inria, Inserm (National Institute for Health and Medical Research), CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), and the University of Rennes. The team is located on the medical and scientific campus in Rennes and succeeded the "VisAGeS" team in 2019.
Our research focuses on medical imaging, neuroinformatics, and population cohorts, with a particular emphasis on developing imaging biomarkers for brain diseases. Our team aims to translate this research into clinical applications and advance clinical neurosciences.
