Serving over 30,000 clients in the Mid-Western region of Uganda, ENCOT Microfinance Ltd is a social impact, fast growing and innovative MFI reaching out to over 25 districts in the region. ENCOT’s mission is to provide loans and enterprise development services to low-income smallholder farmer communities, most especially women, to allow them craft their own paths out of poverty through creation of own jobs. Founded in 2006 ENCOT has reached over 2 Million households with life changing financial services (Loans, Money Transfer, Micro Insurance, and Agency Banking) services ranging using both group methodologies targeting the far to reach communities and individual access methodologies targeting mainly the urban and Peri-urban communities especially those operating at SME Level. In pushing its agenda, ENCOT works with World leading social investors such as Grameen Credit Agricole Microfinance Foundation, STROMME Microfinance EAL, Oikocredit, aBi Trust, Fefisol, HIVOS, Babyloan, and MSCL to scale outreach, and improve services efficiency through provision loan capital funding and Technical assistance.
