Engineers Without Borders Yemen

EWB Yemen is an independent, not-for-profit, development organization operating in Yemen since 2020 and licensed as tax exemption NGO under work license No. (1057). and a member association of Engineers Without Borders International. The organization has its main office at the capital Sana’a, and its services cover all regions and governorates of Yemen. The Engineers Without Borders Yemen was established with the aim of analyzing the crucial obstacles of local community development, and promoting projects that empower communities to find appropriate solutions for their infrastructure for basic human needs. Engineering For Change. We adopt humanitarian engineering to improve well-being of communities & achieve sustainability. EWB aims to: - Producing more sustainable and effective humanitarian and social work and bringing about peaceful and positive social change. - Build and enhance the role of stakeholders in addressing social issues and their implications on the basis of commitment and responsibility. - Encouraging and stimulating the exchange of correct and accurate knowledge and information between local and international development partners in Yemen. - Supporting efforts to integrate the sustainable development goals into the actions of actors in Yemen and raise indicators of their achievement. - Addressing deficiencies in institutional environments to enhance the operational environment for stakeholders to work towards common goals. - Increasing effectiveness in various programs and projects supported by donors in Yemen. OUR APPROACH We believe that the local community is the best agent for its own change, that local markets are the best engines of sustainable recovery, and that success is based on a healthy interaction between local community members. EWB Yemen seeks to build the capabilities of local communities and enhance their ability to work together effectively in accordance with the principles of participation, accountability and peaceful change.
