Popular culture, TV programs, magazines, movies and websites dispense information and so-called “advice” to girls at a critical time in their development, when they are still in the process of forming their own attitudes. Enlighten workshops cover everything from helping girls discover their own inner beauty and understanding what they see in media often isn't real; to managing friendships and conflicts. Discovering the benefits of positiveness & gratitude to setting safe personal boundaries. Rather than telling girls what to do, we focus on informing, inspiring and empowering them. We encourage girls to be discerning consumers, critical thinkers and to find their own voice and power in a complex world. The workshops also provide tools for learning and change, and leave the girls with on-going strategies to ensure the lessons learnt will be long remembered. Created by experienced educator Dannielle Miller, a best-selling author and well-known media commentator, Enlighten has a proven track record of success.
