EPICS Electric Vehicle Event Infrastructure (EVEI)

Welcome to the EPICS EVEI page! Our team is passionate about developing projects that ignite interest in engineering among high school students and inspire the next generation of innovators. Currently, we're working on four exciting projects: Geofence, Bicycle Power, Data Acquisition, and Kart Manual. Geofence is focused on implementing cutting-edge geofencing technology to enhance the safety of vehicles. The system ensures the vehicle and driver remain within a pre-defined boundary, automatically preventing movement outside of a designated area. The Bicycle Power project is an interactive exhibit that demonstrates energy usage by harnessing the power generated from pedaling a bike. This energy is showcased through an interactive light tower and handlebar-mounted display. Data Acquisition is dedicated to gathering data via a physics box inside a go-kart. The system tracks various aspects of the vehicle’s performance, displays real-time data on a steering-mounted screen, and stores the data for further analysis. Lastly, the Kart Manual team is creating an in-depth guide to assembling commonly used go-karts among high school students in the Midwest. The manual includes a comprehensive parts list and detailed assembly instructions to ensure the process is accessible for individuals of all skill levels. Learn more and join us:
