epo inc. was a successful startup focused on the concept of redesigning the delivery experience of periodicals and consumer facing physical print pieces traditionally delivered via the global postal services. It saw tremendous adoption when it began integrating with banking entities near and far to facilitate a frictionless payment system that allowed people to transfer money they owed to subscription services like utilities, telecommunications companies, banks, trusts, and civic governments. Integration with banking entities through API's was paramount and epo performed admirably. Integrating advertising features was the key to success during this growth spurt of the internet and the introduction of online payment prior to the arrival and widespread success of PayPal. Ideas such as animated bill explainers and coupons that jumped off the screen to capture peoples attention were attempted. In the end, despite widespread approval epo and it's attached brand names were discontinued. It was a sad day when they finally shut down the servers, but that is the way it went as individual choice shifted from a centralized portal for receipt to individual email services that were on the rise such as Google and Yahoo.
