Epsychonline is an online mental health & wellness company providing self-paced structured courses to overcome mental health challenges faced by millions of people all over the world. The company was founded by Dr. Joseph Kekulawala (Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists) in June 2021 giving due consideration to his many years of experience in treating patients with mental health challenges. Alternative strategies are required in the US, MENA and other regions to face the increasing mental health challenges, especially amongst the young people. A 2020 study found that 57% of people in the UAE suffered from at least one mental health disorder. In the USA, over 50% of the population suffering from a mental illness did not receive care due to social stigma and non-availability of mental health services. These figures can be expected to be much higher in less developed countries. Epsychonline is the solution for this lack of mental health professionals as well as the affordability, availability in terms of place/location and the stigma associated with mental health which prevents people with mental health & wellbeing issues from reaching out. Epsychonline provides an affordable means to access mental health services at a time, place, and through an ubiquitous device of choice (mobile, table, desktop) while cutting through the associated stigma to provide relief to millions. The Epsychonline solution will positively impact the UN SDG 3 - Good health & wellness by making mental healthcare more accessible, available, and affordable. It affords an opportunity to cut through the social stigma associated with mental health. Epsychonline is a globally scalable solution with minimum translation and localization efforts to cater to different languages, countries, and cultures. Our patient-centric mindset seeks to make mental healthcare more available (at a time, location, and device of the patient's choice), affordable, and easy to access.
