A Equipe AgroPlus UFV, desde o seu surgimento após o regresso do Prof.º Aziz Galvão Jr. do doutorado nos anos 2000, tem a sua missão muito clara: auxiliar produtores rurais a atingir seus objetivos, buscando uma gestão economicamente viável, ambientalmente correta e socialmente justa, a fim de melhorar sua participação no agronegócio. Baseada nela e em seus valores (comprometimento, confiança, integridade e transparência), a Equipe desenvolveu mais de 30 projetos e contou com parceiros como a FAO, IFC, Banco do Brasil, Comissão Europeia, Aprosoja, Btg Pactual, dentre inúmeros outros.
Atualmente, os seus 13 membros desenvolvem projetos que visam apresentar soluções aos produtores, bem como estudar gargalos presentes no meio rural, como o Programa Agro Plus, ConectarAGRO UFV, Índice de Conectividade Rural, Cadeias MG, Sustentabilidade na Serra do Brigadeiro, Irrigação MT, e os trabalhos desenvolvidos com a Aix Marseille Université, BOKU University e Abapa.
Conta com graduandos em Agronegócio, Agronomia, Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental e Engenharia Ambiental, sendo essa multidisciplinaridade fundamental para a análise e enfretamento das complexidades do setor agrícola.
