Ernst + Bernick LLC is a boutique law firm management consultancy formed by former law firm colleagues and partners David Ernst and Carol Bernick. They bring the perspective and insight gained from 70 years of law practice and 25 years serving in numerous firm leadership roles. The core of Ernst + Bernick is a shared passion for law firm management ideals and expertise beyond the obvious need for excellence in practicing law. It includes strategies for transforming law firms into engines of success for all participants, including long term and upcoming partners, women and lawyers of color. David Ernst focuses on lawyer and law firm succession planning, seeking to strengthen client relationships while developing the next generation of lawyers and assuring smooth transitions via thoughtful succession plans. David previously held the position of Succession Planning Partner at an Am Law 100 firm. Carol Bernick focuses on law firm diversity strategy and execution, seeking to eliminate barriers for women and lawyers of color in becoming partners in leading law firms. Carol has substantial experience creating policies and practices within law firms that foster a culture where diverse lawyers can succeed. Carol also has experience in helping firms obtain Mansfield Certification.
