ESSD is a non government, non profit organization established in 2007 by philanthropists with the guidance of Fatinaaz Feroz (Chairman ESSD, Vice President Stamford University) and Mazida Rashid Shirin (Executive Director ESSD) in an attempt to enhance the sociology-economically depressed communities in Bangladesh. This institution aims to enhance the social situations in the slums of Bangladesh through education and skill development programs. This institution particularly shows interest in the development of children and women of the underprivileged families. ESSD is successfully running a school that is aimed towards providing pre- primary education to the distressed children of the urban slums. 150 students are provided with free education. Along with that ESSD has the generous donations of Stamford University Bangladesh, who provides the students with books and stationary. ESSD is also running a Friday clinic to provide medical help to those who need it.
