About European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance
The European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR) brings together 53 organisations from 30 countries in EU and beyond, providing joint support to research and innovation and mobilising to address the challenges of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) with a One Health approach. Vision: To reduce the burden of antimicrobial resistance. Mission: To boost One Health research and innovation leading to improved surveillance of resistant pathogens, better diagnostics and effective treatment of infections and to prevention measures reducing the use of antimicrobials and the spread of antimicrobial resistance. The EUP OHAMR in brief - Consortium of 53 organisations across 30 countries - 10 year programme 2025-2035 - Ambitious framework of programmes consisting of funding for R&I projects, capacity strengthening, knowledge translation, data exploitation and impact - Approx. €250 million pooled funding for R&I projects - Co-funded by the EU with up to €75 million towards the implementation of the programme and support for R&I projects - Coordinated by the Swedish Research Council, Sweden The formation of the European Partnership One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR) was proposed by the European Commission within the framework of the Horizon Europe work programme 2023/2024, to align R&I funding and other activities among the EU countries and beyond. The partnership builds on the legacy of the Join Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR), which has invested over 180 million Euro for research projects and networks between 2011 and 2024.
