Fenna Foundation

Fenna Foundation is a non-profit (ANBI) organisation, which focuses on safety in and around public swimming pools outside The Netherlands. By informing parents on the potential risk, questioning the roles and responsibilities around this matter and helping pool owners improve on safety, the organisation wants to reduce (fatal) accidents. The idea for this foundation arose from a personal experience. In the summer of 2022, we lost our beloved daughter and big sister, Fenna van Gurp, during a holiday in France. In this day and age, in a Western European country, this is incomprehensible, shocking, unthinkable, and unacceptable. Although our dear Fenna will not return, we want to use this foundation to enhance and ensure safety in places where children should be able to play without worry. As a parent, you should be able to trust that others also take responsibility when it comes to safety.
